The Local Church
A Simple Gal's Search for Reality
Growing up in a home with Christian parents, I was very fortunate to receive much love, a set of moral values, which today are considered rare, respect for others and their views, as well as their things, love of God and of country, and obedience to not only family guidelines, but also the laws of the land.
Yet at 13 I realized all I learned was just good knowledge to me. But I wanted and needed more, as my hormones were like everybody elses' at that age. It was then I faced a decision to receive Christ or to let that opportunity pass me by.
I made the most important choice in my life. Then, some 17 years later, married, a mother of two, with Christ as our family's center, I again had to make a decision. I loved the Lord Jesus, I was busy serving Him as I was sure would please Him, when, due to a yearning in my heart for more reality, my husband and I came across the believers in the local church in Los Angeles. We realized these people not only served the Lord in love but also knew how to enjoy Him. They showed us how to enjoy God's word in such a living way.
The more we enjoy this wonderful Christ, the more we grow in His divine life and partake of His divine nature (2 Pet 1:4). We have been enjoying the Lord, the Word, and His Body in the local churches for the past 27 years.
Praise You Lord for Your life. May it always find soft soil in my heart in which to grow (Matthew 13:8).
